This collection is about traditions. Chevrons, patches, and prints symbolize preppy style, which originated from the uniforms of students at private schools and colleges. In this collection play the role of the main expressive means, unifying all the models by one idea. It would seem logical to devote this theme to older children, but the designer’s choice of the age group mini is due to the incredible attractiveness of this style solution for little boys, in whose clothes game and decorative elements, patches, prints look especially harmonious, fresh, modern, according to age.
The color palette of “RETROSPECTIVE” is built on noble beige, blue, and orange, which unmistakably defines its affiliation with the casual style. It is fair to mention that casual wear with notes of elegance is gradually replacing the total sport looks. While it’s difficult to imagine a children’s wardrobe without knit pants and comfortable hoodies, the inclusion of a corduroy shirt, twill chinos, a long-sleeve polo and a denim jacket with a knit hood, as well as detailed elaboration of internal, sometimes invisible at first glance, details and finishes, elevates the entire collection to another level. A distinctive
decorative object is a circle with jagged edges, which can easily be recognized as an ordinary bottle cap. Made of soft yellow rubber, like a sun bunny, it appears on almost all garments as the main unifying chevron with font embossing inside. Usually, font compositions arranged in a circle or in an oval illustrate the belonging of clothes to a certain community: a sports team, an educational institution, a class. And in this collection this method of decoration is realized in full compliance with the chosen theme.
